Clinical Audit – addressing ethical concerns

Clinical Audits carried out in an individual practice for the purpose of QI will not normally raise ethical issues or require formal ethics approval. Due to the process of data collection, Clinical Audit may look similar to aspects of practice-based Clinical Veterinary Research. Therefore, it is important to understand the difference between the two and the ethical issues that could arise. This is particularly important if you are thinking of publishing your audit.
