AAHA Pain Management Guidelines

These guidelines, produced by the American Animal Hospital Association, are designed to help members of the veterinary team assess pain and create pain management plans for cats and dogs. The guidelines provide a framework for the assessment and management of both acute and chronic pain and can be used as a basis to produce practice guidelines.
